One of the many beautiful sunsets over the pagodas in Bagan:
We spent Chinese New Year of the horse in the UK, which was shortly followed by floods in Marlow, which fortunately didn’t reach our house.
Water, water everywhere (with thanks to the BBC helicopter for flying over, so that we could survey the situation from the safety of Shanghai):
We saw “The Rolling Stones” in concert in Shanghai.
“You can’t always get what you want” – and you can’t always get this close to Mick Jagger:
We spent the Easter holidays in Laos.
Young monks hard at work on the Spring cleaning:
We perfected a number of new cocktails.
Hendrick’s gin & tonic with a rabbit twist;
We went to Ningbo lake for the weekend (South of Shanghai).
Thomas enjoyed listening to the fish:
We went camping to celebrate Polly’s birthday (well, we arrived in time for breakfast).
Thomas, Jessica & Freya relaxing in the back of Rosie:
Thomas learnt to sail a dingy with his friend Josh (from Tokyo).
Thomas messing about in boats on the River Thames:
We went to Chongming Island, North East of Shanghai for a weekend in the wetlands.
Thomas enjoying the bamboo gardens:
We went to the UK for the Chinese holidays (although Mum was in the US working most of the time).
Smart, newly painted front doors:
and thankfully Mum made it back in time for her late birthday party.
And a fantastic birthday cake:
